Our Basic Structure
The bunga consists of a panj, members & advisors. Our current focus areas include (1) growing community involvement via retreats and conferences and (2) education through building curriculum and hosting veechar groups.
Our aim is to continue to expand and grow throughout the concentrations of Sevā, Bhagtī and Giān.
Bunga Pathway
Our annual retreat in February in Austin, Texas is when we officially kick off the year and where we usually garner interest for new members.
The capstone focus for new members is around Japji Sahib – we have created a syllabus that leverages Bhai Satpal Singh’s (Nanak Naam) course as our primary resource and also includes secondary resources that we will be discussing.
Once a participant completes the Japji Sahib veechar (minimum of 1 year at a 85% attendance rate) – they qualify to become a member. Around halfway through Japji Sahib – prospective members should start to think of what type of long-term project they would like to engage in to keep their bunga membership status active.
Projects
In order to stay an active member in the bunga, we ask that members take part in leading projects across the three different concentrations. Even though a project might have one of the areas as a concentration it must also incorporate the other two concentrations in some way.
The Panj as well as advisors will also be there for you as guides to help bring the project to fruition.
